This highly interactive two-day course specifically designed for those with responsibility for Fire Safety Management. With PowerPoint presentation, workshops and the use of a live fire demonstration unit, participants will have the ability and competence to implement and monitor a Clinical Emergency Management System, having gained the necessary knowledge and skill to deal with an emergency effectively.
Participants who have completed this course will have a good understanding of;
- The chemistry, spread, class of fire and the principles of fire prevention.
- The types of fire extinguishers.
- How to eliminate or control Fire hazards within a Nursing Home or Care Centre.
- The theory of progressive horizontal evacuation.
- Actions taken in the event of fire.
- How to assist the fire brigade.
- Legal responsibilities under current legislation.
- How to set up, monitor and evaluate a Clinical Emergency Management System
- The organisations evacuation procedures.
- The Fire Safety Manager’s responsibilities.
