Manual Handling in the Workplace
Course Details
This course will provide participants with the knowledge to conduct all manual handling activities in a manner that will prevent injury. This course will inform participants on the consequences of lifting incorrectly and on safe manual handling techniques.
Participants who have completed this course will have a good understanding of
- Assessing and lifting of a load within their physical capabilities
- Legal requirements involved
- Basic Anatomy and the spine
- The need for fitness for the task
- How to utilize measures to avoid or reduce manual handling organizational solutions, such as small loads or sharing manual handling and use mechanical devices
